Connecting Tamara to your platform
Tamara is a buy now, pay later provider. Your buyer chooses Tamara at checkout, splits the price into interest-free instalments, and reaches the product without waiting.
The order is recorded as paid the moment Tamara approves the purchase, so access, the order record and the invoice follow the same path as a card payment.

Tamara BNPL on your platform
A payment method at checkout
Tamara sits beside your other payment methods. The buyer completes the purchase on Tamara and returns to your platform.
The instalment amount on the product page
With your Tamara public key saved, the product page shows what a single instalment costs before the buyer reaches checkout.
One order record
A Tamara order has the same order number, buyer details and access as any other payment method, and appears in the same orders list and reports.
With the rest of your platform
Your discount reaches Tamara
A coupon's discount is sent to Tamara with the order, so the buyer splits the price after the discount rather than before it.
The Tamara options approved for you
Tamara decides which of its options your account may offer, such as instalments or paying later, and your checkout shows the ones it approved within their limits.
Refunds recorded against the order
A refund starts in your Tamara dashboard. Your platform records it against the order and withdraws the buyer's access to the product.
What decides whether it appears to a buyer
- Tamara sets the order range it accepts for your account, so a small order may show your other payment methods only.
- Tamara quotes instalments in the currencies it settles in, and a storefront selling in another currency shows its other methods.
- A storefront left in sandbox mode takes no real payment, because sandbox keys and live keys are separate.
The connection steps are in the help centre
Tamara is connected from the Apps page of your dashboard, with keys copied from your Tamara partner dashboard. The help centre covers the steps, including sandbox mode before you go live.
Open the help centreCommon questions
- Does Tamara cost extra on Lymonah?
- Lymonah charges nothing for the connection. Tamara's merchant fees come from your agreement with Tamara and are billed by Tamara.
- When does the buyer get access?
- As soon as Tamara approves the purchase, without waiting for the instalments to be paid off.
- Who collects the instalments?
- Tamara does. It pays the merchant for the order, then collects the instalments from the buyer on its own schedule.
- Can Tamara and Tabby both be connected?
- Yes. Both can run at the same time, and each appears at checkout for the orders it accepts.
- Is another payment gateway still needed alongside Tamara?
- Usually yes. Tamara covers the orders it accepts for your account, and your main gateway collects everything else.
