Connecting your platform to the National eLearning Center
Lymonah provides the technical integration and operating requirements needed to connect your platform to the National eLearning Center. Your organisation can apply to the Center for a platform licence, which is issued after its requirements and approval process are completed.
Once your entity's credentials are saved, learner activity is reported to the Center's learning record store as it happens, and the Arabic policy pages are published on your storefront.
From the Growth plan
NELC on your platform
Activity as xAPI statements
Enrolment, starting a course, progress, completion, a finished lesson, a watched lesson, a finished module, a quiz attempt, a rating and an earned certificate each become a statement sent to the Center.
The Arabic policy pages
Installing the app publishes a set of Arabic policy pages on your storefront, on academic integrity, intellectual property, attendance, satisfaction, feedback, support and getting started, grouped in your footer and yours to edit.
Your entity's badge in the footer
Your verification number appears in the storefront footer, with control over its wording, its size and where in the footer it sits.
With the rest of your platform
The learner identified by national ID
A learner is asked for a national ID or iqama number once, on the course player and the library, and is never asked again whether they give it or decline.
History reported too
Activity from before the connection is reported as well, and a learner who supplies an ID later has their earlier activity reported from that point.
A staging environment first
Reporting goes to the Center's staging store until you turn testing off, so nothing reaches the live store before your entity is ready.
Before you switch it on
- This capability supports the reporting requirements of the organization. It does not mean that every platform using Lymonah is automatically accredited or approved.
- The Center issues the learning record store credentials and the verification code to a registered entity. Your platform reports with them and does not obtain them for you.
- Only course activity for a learner who supplied a national ID or an iqama number is reported. A learner who declines generates no statements.
- The policy pages are Arabic starting drafts written for you to edit, not a list checked against the Center.
The connection steps are in the help centre
The app is installed from the Apps page of your dashboard, with your entity code and the learning record store credentials the Center issued you. The help centre covers the steps, including the staging environment before you report to the live store.
Open the help centreCommon questions
- Does connecting this make my platform accredited?
- No. It gives your platform the technical reporting the Center asks for. The licence is applied for by your own entity and issued by the Center after its own process.
- What exactly is sent to the Center?
- The learner's identifier and their course activity, with the instructor's name and your platform's identifier. The learner's full name and phone number are sent once, with the enrolment statement.
- When is the learner asked for a national ID?
- On the course player and the library, once. The request appears only while the app is connected, and never at checkout.
- Can the policy pages be edited?
- Yes. They are published as your own pages, and your edits stay as they are. Removing the app removes the pages it published.
- Can the reporting be paused?
- Removing the app stops the reporting, and removes the policy pages it published with it. Installing it again resumes the reporting and sends what was missed.
